How Many OnlyWire Shares Do You Need?
Knowing how many OnlyWire shares you will need when auto-syndicating people in TribePro is a bit tricky to say the least.
But you definitely want to get the maximum benefit from TribePro by taking advantage of auto-syndications, while maximizing your ROI and avoid any OnlyWire overage charges!
I am receiving a total of around 1800 or more shares for each piece of content I submit, and I’m only in my 2nd month of auto-syndications.
This is from the currently 116 people who are auto-syndicating me, and my sharing to 29 places (which allows me to receive up to 29 shares from anyone auto-syndicating me, as they may be sharing to anywhere from 1 to 35 places).
If you are a free member in TribePro, you only need an OnlyWire account if you wish to use the one-button submit for your manual syndications of others’ content.
And in that case, a free account number of 300 OnlyWire shares per month is most likely going to be enough.
But if you plan on upgrading to a TribePro PLUS or PRO account to enable auto-syndication, how do you know to what level to increase your quota of OnlyWire shares?
Exceeding Your OnlyWire Shares Quota Can Be Costly!
Overage charges from OnlyWire will be imposed if you exceed your quota of shares after you upgrade (the free account will simply stop shares after you reach your 300 quota for the month).
These charges seem minimal at $.05/share, but considering you might easily exceed 6000 shares over your limit, this would cost you at least $300.
I’ve spoken with someone who even incurred $1200 of overage charges within the first couple of weeks of his auto-syndicating around 100 people, and being at the 5000 limit of OnlyWire shares.
But never fear, there are multiple ways to mitigate this issue and eliminate any overage charges!
Here are the OnlyWire Pro plans, and when I first upgraded I did so gradually as I increased my auto-syndications.
I thought at first that 2500 then 5000 OnlyWire shares per month would be enough, but as I began to auto-syndicate for more than 20 people, it quickly became apparent that it was not!
How to Know How Many OnlyWire Shares You Need
It’s not an exact science, that’s for sure, but I’ve had a lot of people ask, and known of a lot of people who have suffered the same growing pains as myself in the beginning.
To what level you should upgrade your OnlyWire account depends on three things:
- the number of social bookmarking or blogging accounts that you have in TribePro‘s auto-syndicate settings for OnlyWire shares,
- how many people you auto-syndicate for in the TribePro members area, and
- how many posts those people submit on a daily/monthly basis.
If you have selected for example 30 accounts for OnlyWire shares in your TribePro auto-syndicate settings, then when someone you auto-syndicate for submits one post per day (or 30 posts per month), you will use 30 shares x 30 posts, or 900 shares for that person for that month.
If you have selected 10 accounts for your OnlyWire shares, then that would reduce that to 300 shares for that person for that month.
Of course there is no predicting how many posts someone will submit per month, but I have observed some patterns.
The following is the view from the OnlyWire Usage tab (available for paid versions of OnlyWire).
The graph starts from your first day of your billing month, and is broken into quarters based on the number of OnlyWire shares you’ve budgeted.
As you can see, my OnlyWire shares of 25,000 per month seems enough for the 120 people for whom I am auto-syndicating, given this snapshot is from the morning of the 7th day.
If your usage is around or over 25% of your shares before the end of the first week,or 50% for your second week, etc., then you will have to keep a close watch to avoid overage charges.
You can wait until you get near the end of your OnlyWire shares quota before upgrading. But, OnlyWire DOES now pro-rate the upgraded account to be a percentage of the remaining month since your last upgrade (they didn’t my first two upgrades!).
If you are financially constrained and cannot upgrade for more OnlyWire shares, then you will want to (temporarily) reduce your shares in your TribePro auto-syndicate settings, or stop auto-syndicating (setting your shares to 0) until a new month of OnlyWire shares begins.
But that will cost you in the shares that you are able to receive, as you only receive the number of shares that you allow in your auto-syndicate settings.
And if you stop auto-syndicating someone, it may cause some to stop aut0-syndicating you. You might elect to set your shares to 1 until you catch up if you really don’t want to upgrade your OnlyWire account.
Just below the above view, there is a drop down box which defaults to month, but you can select ‘Day’ which will give you the following view (the dates seem off, April at the top, May is on the bottom, June in the middle, weird I know, but I just picked my start billing date on June 20 forward here):
So what if someone posts 30 posts in a single day, and did this 3 times per month? That would be 90 posts, and sharing to 30 places would have used up 2700 shares for the month on that one person.
For me that is over 1/10 of my entire 25,000 OnlyWire shares quota for the month, a far greater percentage for anyone on less than that plan. I could only auto-syndicate for 10 such people at my current quota!
Well, normally this doesn’t happen, thank goodness most (people are aware that TribePro is a tribe not a system!).
If someone on your auto-syndicate lists submits 5 posts per week (20 posts per month), and you are sharing to 30 places, then that’s 600 shares per month per person for whom you auto-syndicate.
Then if you are auto-syndicating for 100 people, then 100×600 is 60,000 shares per month!
However, most people do not maintain that kind of activity (I’m lucky to submit 3 posts per week myself!).
So for now it looks to be that I’m using an average of over 650 shares per day with 122 people on my auto-syndicate list. This is always fluctuating as you can tell, but my OnlyWire shares are holding well right now.
But when I was over 20 people on my auto-syndicate list, thinking that 5000 shares would be plenty, I found I had several excessive submitters in my auto-syndicate list who had repeatedly submitted 20-30 posts in a single day.
I quickly had to upgrade OnlyWire twice in a two week period, as well as reduce my share accounts to even as low as 1 to keep up with them and avoid overage charges! (I finally ended up removing a few of them from my auto-syndication list.)
So the things you can do to avoid your overage charges for your OnlyWire shares are:
(a) monitor your OnlyWire usage
(b) upgrade your OnlyWire account
(c) limit or reduce the number of people for whom you auto-syndicate
(d) reduce the number of networks you share to in your TribePro auto-syndicate settings
I have another post about using auto-syndication that contains a video about how to monitor your OnlyWire shares so that you can find anyone that’s excessively submitting that you may want to remove from your auto-syndication list.
So What About the ‘Captcha Solver’?
Another way to reduce your ROI is simply avoid the Captcha Solver charge.
With my 25,000 OnlyWire shares per month, I would have to add $75 onto my $60 per month OnlyWire bill to have the shares I auto-syndicate ‘finalized’.
That is, OnlyWire would complete the ‘captcha’ codes required by several of the networks that require them.
As I had an exchange with OnlyWire support at one time asking a related question, I was told that these were the services that required ‘captcha’ codes:
And another way to improve your marketing ROI is to leave out the finalization charges and don’t shares to these networks in your TribePro Settings.
On a side note, in another exchange with OnlyWire support, I was informed that Hi5 would fail submissions if my first update wasn’t manual (mine were via OnlyWire!). I’d always observed failures on Hi5 and Newsvine shares probably for this reason.
So I know this has been a VERY long post, but I really hope this helps you to know how best to upgrade your OnlyWire shares quota, and make the best of your TribePro membership!

Straightforward, informative…and a great help to those who use
the autosyndication feature on TribePro.
Great post, Vicki!

Vicki – That was a very detailed article on OnlyWire shares. I never upgraded from the free account ‘cos it was too confusing. I now feel that I made the right choice. With what you have written, the actual process has become very clear to me.
Hi Amanda,
Thanks, I felt it was something so easily missed, and I fumbled my way through it so wanted to save others the problems. It’s definitely an expense that should be planned for, and until you’re ready to produce the content to make that worthwhile I would say hold off and then, well, I’ve seen a tremendous payoff myself!
Thanks for stopping by, wishing you Fabulous Success!

Hi Vicki!
Thanks for inviting me back to your Blog…It’s neat to connect again.
Excellent article, it most definitely lessens the confusion once we settle
down & get a grip on our Onlywire accounts. I know, being good heart’d
people we want to auto syndicate every member in TribePro. But, some
do abuse submissions & we have to monitor that type of nonsense.
It’s looking mighty fine here, KUDOs on your hard work & I’m drooling over
your Alexa…*High5* at ya.

Hi Steven!
Welcome back! Great to see you here as always
And thanks, glad you liked the article, this was impossible to keep short LOL! There are so many angles to consider, but at least I got it down finally, have been meaning to for a while. You’re right we have to watch out for the desire to please everyone in TribePro! Watching those over-submitters is necessary.
Thanks on the Alexa, I have to thank TribePro for that I do believe, so it won’t be long and you’ll see yours drop like a rock!
Oh and thanks for the plugin, I’m going to get it now!
Wishing You Tremendous Success!

I never really worked the onlywire numbers out like that, because I was like you in not having to worry about it so much. But its good to know for future reference. Thanks.
Hi Trudy,
I know, it was very tempting not to worry about it but I am sure glad I did, even at the ‘free’ level of 300 shares per month, if i had not upgraded OnlyWire then I would have fallen short of reciprocal shares, and then having upgraded could have incurred some serious overage charges! Glad I paid attention!
Thanks for stopping by and for your comment!

Very clear and direct to the point. I actually did not know about TribePro until I read about your post. Thanks for the info.
Thanks Michelle, and You’re Welcome! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
All the Best,

Hi Vicki,
Thanks for another very detailed post about TribePro auto-syndication! Unfortunately I had to reduce my submissions or even set them to zero a few times because of excessive submitters. I do keep a very close eye on it now.
Thanks for your insights!

Hi Ilka,
Thank you, and you are quite welcome! Yes, sorry you have too had to reduce your auto-submissions that way. It does seem there are quite a few oversubmitters there and we’ll just have to continue keeping an eye on our stats to avoid those overages!
Thanks for your time in commenting here, have an awesome week!

Wishing You Every Happiness and Success,
Thanks so much for the very important information. It is appreciated, without it I would be in trouble.
You’re welcome Elizabeth! I’m happy to have been of help to you, I know I was just about in trouble myself before I happened to take a look one day, so I’ve been diligent ever since. But it’s worth the trouble, as the benefits of TribePro are obvious!
Wishing You Fantastic Success,

Thank you so much for explaining this in such detail. I learnt a lot from it; for example I never would have thought to avoid the services that require captcha codes. Details like this will make a significant difference to my ROI.
Hi Lauren,
You’re welcome, I’m glad it helped! I’ve certainly had my learning curve so wanted to help others along the same path!
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!

Wishing You Wonderful Success,
Everyone should know exactly how many we need not with just in this case. It is one way of insuring your money. Nobody would want to pay for some excess things that you might not need.
Great post! You really have to pay attention to your onlywire when you have the paid version. It’s amazing you many share you can go through with syndicating people. I had the free account and the went pass the 300 limit in 7 days!

Thanks! Yes indeed, you should definitely pay attention especially at the intermediate levels of OnlyWire (under 100,000 and Enterprise versions)! It is an often unexpected surprise how quickly people can burn through their shares auto-syndicating!
Nice stuff Vicki, thanks
..i too had a few sleepless afternoons re auto-syndicating, with several pleas to onlywire support… in the end i turned everything off! .. but am now the wiser.. i liked your captacha solution…elegant indeed.

I hear you David! I had to completely shut down but thankfully did so prior to having overage charges, but only because I had an idea that maybe it would be a good idea to check prior, no one had warned me! It’s definitely something to budget for but very well worth it in the end if you are a serious blogger.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Ok, Thanks!
Hey Vicki, nice article! I too am up to the 25k submission per month with Onlywire. I stopped with the “finalizations” when I finally figured out I could just not use the social networks that require it. Don’t know why that took me so long! Actually, in the settings of TribePro I just de-selected those that require the captcha solved so I don’t auto-syndicate through those networks, but I still want my own posts published to Reddit, etc. so I still have them enabled in Onlywire.

Hi Matt, thank you! Yep those submissions go quickly don’t they! And good idea about keeping the networks set up for the finalizations when you can use them, thanks!
Wishing You Tremendous Success,

Vicki, really appreciate this article. For whatever reason there is a lack of information on this topic within tribe pro. They should include this material in the training as it’s really a critical part of managing your tribepro account. I’m guessing they probably don’t want people to realize it takes another $60 or so per month to really get the benefit of tribepro. My verdict is still out on the value of the backlinks, but I’m new and only getting about 300 shares at this point. Article Directory submission is hard to beat for the value, and its getting my articles ranked nicely. I can’t see spending $100+ per month without a marked boost in the rankings of my articles….we’ll see ..thanks again for this great explanation.
Tim Buist´s last [type] ..3 Huge MLM Prospecting Mistakes
Hi Tim,
Well I think it was a fast and steep learning curve for everyone, including the founders of TribePro! Everyone has tried to get the word out but I do think some formal front page training would have been good but I do know that solutions are afoot. Meantime, I found that when I got over 100 auto-syndicators things really peaked for me traffic wise, having over 1500 unique visits in one day. You’re right, article marketing can do well with providing back links but there is a kind of community in the social aspect of TribePro, and I’ve still not spent over $100/mo and am getting about 2000 shares each time I post (I’m now at about 140 auto-syndicators).
Anyway, I think there is still a lot of evolution to be seen in this system, meanwhile I can’t complain about my traffic which has definitely seen an overall increase of around 100%!
Wishing You Tremendous Success!

The creators of Tribepro should have designed it without the use of Onlywire…..it is ridiculous charging a monthly fee and then expecting people to go out and pay for Onlywire. It truly is pathetic.
That said, I am using Tribepro…
Instead of everyone trying to get the word out….if you are reading this Tracy….it is time you upgraded your training WARNING everyone.
This is how people go broke!!!
Hi Chris,
Well I think it was a huge project and to do what they did, I think they didn’t realize the drawbacks of OnlyWire in the overages that were possible particularly for people submitting 20 and 30 posts per day, whom I’ve removed from my own auto-syndicate list (I’ve updated this post to refer to others I have written on that topic and how to watch your OW stats and identify abusers). Only stay tuned for I do believe there are changes afoot at TP, any time now new trainings won’t be necessary….
I’ve written several posts trying to warn people so I hope the updates in this one help spread the word.
Thanks for your comment Chris and I hope to see you around soon!

Wishing You Tremendous Success,
Hey Vicki. I just realized this myself. I was not happy last month paying $75 for 2500 captcha solves. Figuring this out helped my budget tremendously. Maybe now, people will start to come back.

Hey Vicki, thanks for the break down on the usage and How Many Onlywire Shares I’ve used. It’s always been a “puzzle” for me trying to figure it all out. You’ve broken it all down and have taken the guess work out of it.
You’re welcome Julie! I’m so glad it helped – I just had a conversation with someone who had 5000 shares but went over and had to pay OW over $240. Sad, it’s something that needs to be more clearly communicated by OW and TP, but at least TP is working on a solution to this and it will be coming out soon!
Good luck with it and I wish you the Best Success!

Thanks for sharing! Kindof a weird question here. I have the only wire submitter installed on my computer authorizing my account but when I click on history it show this:
You have 10,510 items waiting to be processed by your Submitter™
Now do you know why it wouldn’t be submitting them off the top of your head?
I’ll most likely end up sending a support ticket in but thought I would throw it out there…

Hi Mike!
Sorry for the late reply, don’t know how I missed this comment in my dashboard!
I’m not sure what is going on with your OW submissions there, you should definitely put in a ticket (I hope you already have!) And if you are a TribePro member, be sure they cap your submissions if you hit your quota prior to the end of your billing cycle. I had put in a ticket to TribePro when I noticed the limit get capped but my account continued to rack up ‘pending’ submissions. Staci and Ronnie at TribePro figured out there was a mistake on the OW side that had that effect.
Good luck!
