Hi Geoff,

I did try and make the point that this post was tounge in cheek if you will, and that I agree many men are indeed just as awesome. Many women however seem not to recognize the awesomeness within themselves and appreciate their own strengths. And I surely meant to make clear that the ‘gab’ can be a flaw if in giving a pitch, but in relationship building it CAN be a great asset if used wisely. And, I do know plenty of men with a gift of gab as well!

Much of what you say is OK yet it fails to acknowledge that many men are just as awesome.

Additionally the “gift of the gab” as you put it is a BAD networking tool. If networking is about relationships – and I agree – then being a good listener is far more important.

Where men are very successful in this industry, I think we’re often overlooked for our innate talents and gifts, an entirely different set of skills. For example most often I dare say we’re even better listeners! )

Thanks for your comment, and you’re right the guys DEFINITELY have their strengths! The intent of my post was to boost the confidence of the women in this business just a bit more, making them (and even the guys) realize that they have so many valuable skills to pull from, they just have to recognize them!
