Some might say they don’t need to worry about personal development. They’re already developed or they just don’t have the time.
But when you think about it, you’re probably doing a bit of something from time to time that you can qualify as personal growth.
And, if you are stagnating in some areas then you should think about the results of this inaction.
One of the best things you can do for your mind to stay sharp and your body to remain healthy is to continue growing as long as you live.
In all areas of your life, from physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, to your relationships and family life, you can probably use at minimum some adjustments and improvements.
When you take the time to focus on yourself, you become more confident and happy, and as a result, successful in life.
It occurred to me that my aging guitar was quite the analogy as it’s tone and beautiful resonance which I’d grown accustom to for the majority of my life was in jeopardy of being lost forever. It was dying.
Yes, it had actually come to the point that it was no longer playable. No matter how I tuned the strings, they could not be in tune in all areas of the fretboard.
Yes it would have ultimately even been forever unrepairable, had I not decided to make an investment in it. I considered giving up on it and just looking for a replacement, since the repair was going to cost almost as much as it is worth.
But I knew that a replacement would be impossible to find, even in a very expensive guitar. For it was its age and character that made it unique and beautiful.
Just like each and every one of us. We all have our talents and we owe it to ourselves to appreciate and give credit to ourselves enough so that we’re motivated to put our efforts toward improving ourselves in any way possible so that we are the best that we can be.
