Life is Like an Icy Driveway….

As we had one of the snows we only get about once in 3 or so years in central NC, I needed to dig myself out before the ice became impossible to shovel.. and as I worked at my 100 foot or so of sloping driveway, trying not to see how much I still had to go before I reached my goal, I got to thinking…. it reminded me a bit of working my business…..

Here’s the link – enjoy!

Growing up on a hill in Massachusetts, I remember our driveway many times coated with inch-thick solid ice. We’d scramble to the top and skid to the bottom on our feet, like skiing on shoes. Fun! Then the hours of ice scrapping when the sun came out to warm the southern-facing blacktop, followed by shoveling the chunks of ice.

I live in a different world, now. The past your video resurrects seems almost a dream, and many miles have come and gone since. Who knows what tomorrow’s nostalgia may bring even on the snows of today!

  3. Very cute, Vicki — and yet profound. You’ve nailed it when you compare it to the everyday repetitive motions we have to keep up to make our businesses thrive. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about the icy driveway here in California, though! Thanks for the smiles & the serious thoughts.

Thanks Beth! I couldn’t help but see the similarities in my business as I chipped and worked to seemingly no end LOL! Glad you get to appreciate sunny CA!
