Personal Development Skills II: Building Relationships in Attraction Marketing and Prospecting

As part of a series of videos exploring various areas of personal development, in this one we discuss relationships and attraction marketing.

This discussion came up in advance of the series, as we talked about the methods of network marketing both online and offline, and how they both depend on relationship building.

The term ‘Attraction Marketing’ has been used to describe the online methods, but in fact applies to the art of marketing and sales which has been practiced for as long as these industries have been around, and describes the act of providing value and learning the needs and desires of your target market. This brings us into the realm of relationship building every time.

I love Jans energy! My challenges with the traditional form of network marketing came with my young age. I had no value to offer anyone, that I wanted to sponsor.. even if they were interested in my business. I believe in the power of relationship building offline, however the internet has bridged a huge gap for me, and my ability to meet other professionals and in providing value to others. I believe traditional network marketing will never die because it is based on timeless principals. The internet has simply opened up the possibilities to individuals such as myself. Great job Vicki

      Thank You Ray!

Yes indeed, Jan is one of a kind, she’s brilliant and a wonderful friend to have!

And you said it so well, the internet has bridged a huge gap for me as well, the ability to meet other professionals and provide value to others! But as well, offline marketing is based on timeless principles, the same ones that extend to online marketing, the power of relationships!

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment!

      Wishing You Tremendous Success,
      Vicki

  2. Thanks for this video Vicki; it’s the first of your videos I’ve seen since connecting with you on Twitter this month, and I’m sure it won’t be the last!

Loved the discussion about the connection between fact-to-face marketing and on line marketing / relationship building. I especially liked (and fully endorse) the idea of developing quality relationships with a smaller number of people than trying a ‘hit’ as many people as possible in a superficial way. Trust is important too!

    Warm regards
    Debbie

      Thank you so much Debbie!

You know, it’s funny you mention this one because I just did a post the other day, “Put the Networking Back into Network Marketing“, which goes right along with this topic!

Jan is a super recruiter, and she’s never used online methods. And many people DO have success this way, so not only have we skills to learn there but in helping one another we can build those key relationships!

Thanks for connecting with me on Twitter and here too!

      Wishing You Brilliant Success,
      Vicki

  3. Lee Wise says:

It seems to me that so much of the attraction marketing model revolves around such keys in relationship building as:

    *Personal testimony
    *Showing interest
    *Being sincere
*Not being fearful about reflecting what I am recommending
    *Taking Time
    *Reflecting personal care
    *Establishing credibility
    *And, therefore, establishing trust.

In addition, what came through to me was planning the process, continuing to refine it, and moving forward.

    Good thoughts,

    Lee

      Hi Lee!

You are so right, the planning, refining and moving forward, has to continue all while the relationships are developing!

Great to see you again, thanks for stopping by and adding your thoughts!

      Wishing You Tremendous Success,
      Vicki

  4. Joe says:

Relationship-building always has and always will be the primary objective of obtaining new customers — even if that contact takes place digitally. Like Lee said, part of that building involves, first and foremost, being sincere and then establishing trust and credibility with whomever you trying to establish a connection.

In all, it’s really a simple process that is made way too difficult by a lot of people.
