If you are or have been in network marketing this should make complete sense (well, somehow), that your road to success is paved with potholes.

You may well be on your way to success, no matter how long a road you perceive it to be.

But you may think your goals are out of sight, or wonder if you are even on the right road!

With the many pitfalls, whether they be potholes, snake pits, or just barrels of wild monkeys you must deal with, you can at the very least say it isn’t boring.

But wouldn’t it be better to have a road map to success to help you avoid those potholes?

Otherwise, some of your obstacles will be unforeseen, such as a hidden clause in your policies and procedures which may cause you to lose big once you make it there. Or breakage in your compensation plan which is never explained to you when you hear the hype.

It could be that your team has no cohesion, or people drop out as fast as you can enroll the new ones.

Or it may be that you are told there isn’t anything you need to know other than how to present your opportunity or promote your excellent product.

But if you learn from the experts what is available to you for the asking, you can begin the activities which will prepare you for real success in this industry.

Choose Your Path Wisely

Make sure that if you are doing any activity at all in network marketing, that you are spending your energies on the right ones, in the right way, and in a company which will reward you fairly.

Learn to recognize breakage in the different types of compensation plans, and to determine the number of people you will need in your organization to  make your target income.

Learn what to look for and more importantly, what phrases to avoid in a policies and procedures document.

Although the activities you have to deal with are many, training, mentoring, sponsoring, marketing, etc, they are simple when taken one at a time, and learned with the expectation that nothing is necessarily fast and easy.

Just be sure that you put your efforts where they will be the most valuable to you in the long run.

Dream, Drive and Determination

But with a clearly defined goal, your ‘why’, you can find the persistence you need to stay your course.

You can keep this dream, your vision, in mind as the ultimate reason you would take your spare time, little as though it may be, and spend it in a variety of ways that wouldn’t necessarily be your first choice at the moment.

You can find the drive to ask yourself, is there just one more thing I can do for my business today, before I finally stop to rest?

You can decide to talk to one more person, or read one more article, or listen to one more educational audio or read one more chapter in a book which helps you develop yourself, and you are paving the road to your success. It is the dream you are after that keeps you going.

But knowing the right activities, and being able to prioritize those and maintain focus, will be your road map to success. The steps should be simple and duplicatable, and you should be able to mentor with a servant’s heart anyone who needs it.
