The term Perpetual Internet Traffic Machine refers to the components of your internet sales presence which gets internet traffic without the need of PPC, other ads, or traffic exchanges.

A ‘sale’ in this case is anything from the actual customer purchase of your product, or your having obtained personal contact information from someone in exchange for something of value that you have to provide.

Elements of the Perpetual Internet Traffic Machine

In order to create a Perpetual Internet Traffic Machine, five elements need to be developed:

1. Central Hub
2. Content Syndication Network
3. Search Engine Visibility & Rankings
4. Sales Funnel Process

Your Central Hub is where you publish your content, which is the primary component of this system. The content must provide value to your target market, and must be Enlightening, Educational, and/or Entertaining.

So What is a Content Syndication Network?

If you provide valuable content; good enough that someone wants to come back and better yet, pass it along to their contacts, submit it to social bookmarking sites, vote and comment, and even link back to it from their content, then you are building a Content Syndication Network.

Content Syndication is when your content is propagated through networks beyond your own, whether by any of the aforementioned methods, or simply by it being propagated through email.

This extends the reach of your own network, and becomes your Content Syndication Network. Your content goes viral when it has been syndicated beyond your network’s networks, and your traffic increase will make that evident.

The Content Syndication Network depends on two things; Content, and Syndication.

Syndication will not happen naturally without content that has value (sure, you can pay for links to make it look syndicated).

And valuable content is apparent by the number of shares, votes, and comments on a particular post or article.

A Perpetual Internet Traffic Machine Requires SEO

Search Engine Visibility and Rankings are achieved by using effective Search Engine Optimization (SEO), which is now even more associated with social proof indicated by syndicationas of Google’s recentsearch engine algorithm changes.

When you have achieved this visibility and increased traffic from your social media marketing efforts, you will have built a perpetual internet traffic machine.

But keep in mind that you can’t abuse the privelage of earning syndications from your social networks. As described in “Hit and Run Marketing: What Social Media Means to Your SEO and Traffic Exposure“, you can shoot yourself in the foot and ruin the trust you have built in your communities.

The Sales Funnel Process is the process through which people will buy from you.

The sale may be from anything as simple as something in exchange for information (name, email and possibly phone number), or the sales page of a product or an affiliate program you are promoting.

But it is the content that you provide which has value that promotes trust in you by your readers that makes them feel safe enough to exchange information or money for what you have to offer.

Building a Perpetual Internet Traffic Machine Isn’t Easy

While organic results are powerful, they can take time as you build your communities and extend your reach.

The initial exposure of your content to the set of eyeballs in your own networks doesn’t qualify as a perpetual internet traffic machine because it hasn’t perpetuated.
